Nestled in Kent's Darent Valley, Lullingstone Castle has been the home of the Hart Dyke family since its construction in 1497. The current gardens were designed by heir Tom Hart Dyke during his 9 month captivity by bandits in the Colombian rain forest; he was there on a hunt for rare orchids.
