Lancaster House is an extravagant palace on The Mall in St. James's next door to Clarence House (private home of Charles & Camilla). It dates from 1830 and was the residence of the Dukes of Sutherland until 1911. Today it is used for diplomatic receptions and as a filming location, often standing in for Buckingham Palace interiors.
