Anne of Cleves was 4th of the 6 wives of Henry VIII. She was Queen consort of England during the 6 months of their marriage in 1540. This house in Lewes (pronounced Lewis), East Sussex, was part of the settlement she received upon the marriage's annulment. She was the last of Henry's wives to die (in 1557 at age 41).
