Chiswick House & Gardens, West London

An 18th century villa with classical landscapes, 65 acres of spectacular gardens, a lovely outdoor café and a beautiful spring day.  What is there not to love? Chiswick House re-opens next week after lockdown, and we will be be back to explore the inside of this grand house, which in the late 1800s served as an asylum (mental institution) and during WW2 was struck by a V2-rocket (more than 500 V2 rockets hit London). The house and gardens are noted for their collection of camellias, a flower brought to England from Asia in the 1700s and 1880s.
