The Georgian Lodges of Richmond Park

Pembroke Lodge, designed by Sir John Soane and completed in 1796, sits on high ground in Richmond Park.  It was the childhood home of noted philosopher Bertrand Russell and was subsequently occupied by Georgina, Dowager Countess of Dudley.  Today the lodge is a popular spot for weddings.  The gardens are exquisite!

The White Lodge, also in Richmond Park, was built as a hunting lodge for King George II in 1730.  Since 1956, it is the home of The Royal Ballet School, regarded as one of the world's most prestigious centers of classical ballet training.
