Jane Austen's House

Having recently read the Jane Austen novels Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility, it was a treat visiting her house in Chawton, Hampshire.  Her brother Edward's house, a much grander affair, is down the road and also open to visitors.

Chawton House was the home of Jane's brother, Edward.
He became well-to-do when, by a stroke of good luck,
he inherited the property from a distant cousin.

Chawton House dates from 1580
