Located 20 miles north of London in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, Hatfield House was built in 1611 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury, and is occupied in the present day by a descendant. Partially still existing on the property is the Royal Palace of Hatfield; built in 1497, it was the childhood home (mid-1500's) of Queen Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn.
