Founded in Jerusalem during the Crusades, the Order of St. John were knights who served in hospitals treating pilgrims bound for the Holy Land. Today we went on a guided tour of their London headquarters within a 16th century Clerkenwell gatehouse. The Order's modern function includes providing first aid to the community via the St. John Ambulance Brigade.
Never a dull moment with all this history........seeing it firsthand.
