Rochester, a charming town on the River Medway in Kent, about 30 miles east of London, is the site of the imposing Rochester Castle with its 12th-century keep, considered the best preserved in England or France. The castle's roof and floors no longer exist, but one can climb the stone stairs to the ramparts.
We had a very nice lunch here. |
