Penshurst Place

Built in 1341, Penshurst Place near Tonbridge, Kent, is considered one of the most intact surviving examples of medieval domestic architecture in England.  In 1552 the house was gifted by the then 14 year old King Edward VI (son of Henry VIII, the boy would die a year later) to the Sidney family whose ancestors still live there.
