Oxford Botanic Garden

Founded in 1621, the botanic garden in Oxford has over 6,000 different plant species making it one of the most diverse gardens in the world.  Frequently visited in the 1860s by Oxford math professor & author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll), it was inspiration for his Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.  Time spent at the garden also influenced the fantasy novels of Oxford professor & author JRR Tolkien.

Brent Lodge Park

Brent Lodge Park in Hanwell, West London, is located along the River Brent and features a small zoo and a maze comprised of 2000 yews.
