Chelsea Old Town Hall

Currently hosting the London Art Biennale, the Chelsea Old Town Hall is a late Victorian era municipal building.  Some famous names were married here, including Marc Bolan of Glam rock band T Rex, Irish actor Pierce Brosnan, French-Polish film director Roman Polanski (to American actress Sharon Tate), and Judy Garland (to her 5th husband, nightclub manager Mickey Deans, just 3 months before her June 1969 death in London at age 47).

Stephen Tomlin, Sculptor

The Philip Mould Gallery in St. James's is exhibiting the work of Bloomsbury Group sculptor Stephen Tomlin.  Virginia Woolf bemoaned Tomlin's "tragic, wasted life" when he died in 1937, aged only 35, due to a dissolute lifestyle marked by alcohol & drug abuse.
